Bjorn was found sitting in front of a school in LA County, so terribly matted that he had to be sedated so his fur could be shaved down. A good Samaritan at the school found him shelter from last week's storm, and another good Sam got him to her vet (who happens to be our vet). He's now a Shamrock dog. Despite whatever hardships he has endured, he is a sweetheart. He's a little shy at first, but that's nothing a few treats doesn't change. He takes them so gently, you'll never even know they're gone from your fingers. And once he realizes you have the goods, he's yours. He does just fine with other dogs, pretty much ignoring them at first -- like a typical chow -- then instigating play as he gets comfortable. He deserves a loving home where he can learn what being part of a family is all about. A few notes: When we say a dog should be "indoor only," that doesn't mean he can't spend time in your secure yard. It just means we don't want him sleeping out there or staying out there all day while you're gone. Dogs need to be part of the family, so we believe the majority of their time should be spent where you spend yours, be that in or out. We say "Unknown" under "Requires a Yard" and "Requires a home with fence" because every dog and every situation is different, and our goal is to find the best home for every dog and the best dog for everyone who wants one. The last picture of Bjorn is how he looked when he got to the vet. More about BjornGood with Dogs, Good with Adults, Quiet, Does Good in the Car, Leashtrained, Cratetrained, Intelligent, Gentle
