Mooney – the shelter named her Muneca, but we’ve shortened it – is a sweet girl who absolutely adores people. She’s easygoing, likes to lie next to her people and just chill, and would be a great companion for someone who enjoys walks and chilling with a good book or in front of the screen. She isn’t nearly as enthusiastic about other pets as she is about people, so she should be the only pet in the home (small pets who are confined, like hamsters and gerbils, would be OK, but no other dogs or cats, please). What she lacks in animal sociability she more than makes up for in her enthusiasm for human company. Although she’s a senior at 11, she still has plenty of energy and life – but not so much that she’ll run you ragged. And she’s WAY beyond the puppy stage, so you won’t have to worry about any damage to furniture, floors or shoes.

We really aren't sure what breed(s) Mooney is. Almost certainly some shepherd. She looks like she could have Lab, and she's got ears like a shar-pei -- but no wrinkles! The shelter put her as a chow/shepherd mix, but we really don't see chow. Sure, she has some purplish spots on her tongue, but that doesn't guarantee chow (Shar-peis also have purple tongues.) ... whatever she is, she's a sweetie.
