Lulu is cute and smart and funny. She was given up by her owner and was very suspicious of everyone at first. She is still somewhat growly and barky when meeting new people. After meeting several different dogs we believe it best that she be in a home with no other pets. Changing locations is going to be traumatic for her, and while we think that eventually she would be fine with another dog, we don't think it's fair to her to introduce her into a new situation that includes new people and new animals. She lived a very sheltered life with few visitors for the first four years of her life, which is likely why she isn't the friendliest to most new people she meets. She would do best in a calm house where she can bond with her people and relax. She must be in an adults-only home. We also feel she should be in a home with experienced dog people. People with Pekingese experience -- this breed can have a lot of 'tude! -- would be best.
